Thanks to all of you for your kind wishes. While many of you know the PCC credentials from the International Coaching Federation, many have asked me what this is all about.
So, I will give a short (?) explainer.
The Professional Certified Coach credential is more than a certificate; it's a commitment to excellence. It's not about attending a few workshops and nabbing a shiny certificate. No, sir, it's about rolling up your sleeves, diving deep into the nuances, and mastering the art and science of coaching through actual practice. The PCC journey is a marathon of continuous learning, hands-on experience, and embracing every coaching curveball that comes your way.
💪 Rigorous Training? Check? Real-World Experience? Double-Check!
Imagine being in a boot camp where you are learning the theories and applying them in real-life coaching scenarios. Our cohort did this in our ACTP Level 2 Professional & Business Coaching Program from Barefoot Coaching Ltd, which included over 164 hours of training.
The PCC credential demands a solid foundation, a solid number (500+ training hours) of actual paid and pro-bono coaching hours under your belt, and the ability to adapt your coaching style to meet the unique needs of every single client and be mentored as a coach during the process.
🌐 Global Recognition- Yeah, It's a Big Deal
It's not just being good; it's about being recognized as someone who adheres to global standards, who doesn't just talk the coaching talk but walks it too. It's a badge of credibility.
🤝 Beyond The Certificate: A Commitment to Ethical Coaching
The PCC looks fancy on paper, but it's more than that. It's about following your true north set to ethics, trust, and respect. The PCC journey means committing to a code of ethics that goes beyond the coaching sessions - it's a promise to uphold the highest standards of professionalism and integrity.
🚀 Ready for liftoff: Continuous Learning and Growth
And guess what? The PCC isn't the finish line; it's just a milestone on the path to coaching mastery. It's a commitment to gaining mastery of the discipline, embracing new ideas, continuously honing my skills, learning from peer coaches, and expanding the horizon of knowledge on adjacent areas that support human development.
In coaching, just like in life, there's always room to grow.
So there you have it- the long & short explainer! I am super excited to continue on this adventure and couldn't be more grateful for the support and wisdom I have gained from many.
I am going to continue chasing coaching excellence. If you are on a similar path, cheers to you!
Let's keep making a difference and positively impacting one coaching session at a time.
